Rising Sun Masonic Lodge Hosts Youth Art Show

On Haddonfield’s next “First Friday” evening, May 6th, beginning at 6 PM, Rising Sun Lodge No. 15, F. & A.M., 16 Kings Highway East, will display works of art and live performances created by the youthful attendees of Haddonfield Child Care’s afterschool program.  Created under the direction of artists with the NJ Artists in Residency program, and grants provided by Young Audiences NJ, the NJ State Council on the Arts, and funded in part by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the children will present paper quilts, kites, angels, and other works inspired by Faith Ringgold’s short story, “How the People Became Color Blind.”  The event is open to the public and free to all.

Rising Sun Lodge, the largest Masonic Lodge in New Jersey, draws its membership from Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Haddon Township, Cherry Hill, and neighboring communities all over the greater South Jersey-Philadelphia area.  For more information on Masonry and membership, contact the Lodge at (856) 428-4193, or visit the website at RisingSunLodge.org.  For more information about the event, or about Haddonfield Child Care, please call Executive Director Denise Sellers at (856) 429-1603.
